If you've been eyeing the Silverado EV but wanted something with more bite off the pavement, GMC just answered that. The first-ever Trail Boss trim arrives for 2026 with specialized suspension hardware, sharper manoeuvring tech, distinctive cabin touches, and extra power on top of the Work Truck's straightforward electric capability. For Saskatchewan drivers who actually plan to use it off-road, this is the one to look at.

 Trail Boss Power Hits Harder

 Trail Boss Power Hits Harder

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss produces up to 725 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque with Wide Open Watts. That is a notable step up from the Work Truck’s more task-focused setup, giving the Trail Boss stronger acceleration and the muscle needed for demanding terrain. When maximum output is unlocked elsewhere in the lineup, the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV can produce up to 760 horsepower and accelerate from zero to 96 km/h in under 4.5 seconds. It also offers maximum available towing of 12,500 pounds, when properly equipped.

Lifted for Rougher Ground

This is where the Trail Boss separates itself from the base model. It receives a two-inch suspension lift, 18-inch wheels, and substantial 35-inch all-terrain tires. Red tow hooks and Trail Boss badging complete the package, but the upgrade is not simply visual. The additional clearance and off-road tires make it better prepared for trails, rough worksites, snowy backroads, and uneven rural routes. The Work Truck uses 18-inch wheels but does not include the Trail Boss lift, all-terrain tire package, or off-road-specific appearance upgrades as standard equipment.

Four-Wheel Steering Changes the Game

Standard four-wheel steering gives the Trail Boss a smaller turning radius and improved low-speed manoeuvrability. It also unlocks Sidewinder, which turns all four wheels in the same direction so the truck can move diagonally at low speeds. Neither feature is standard on the base Work Truck. For drivers navigating narrow trails, crowded worksites, or tight parking areas, these technologies give the Trail Boss an advantage that feels useful rather than gimmicky.

Screens Built for Real Work

Both trucks provide a generous 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen and an 11-inch Driver Information Centre, so stepping up to the Trail Boss does not mean paying extra just to get a modern dashboard. The Trail Boss difference comes from how its technology supports more adventurous driving, particularly through standard four-wheel steering, Sidewinder, and available Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance with towing. An available 14-inch Head-Up Display can project key information closer to the driver’s sightline, helping reduce the need to look down at the instrument panel.

Charge Into Something Bigger at Paragon Sales Ltd

An electric truck built for the trail is a different proposition than one built for the yard, and it's worth understanding exactly what that difference means before deciding. Stop by Paragon Sales Ltd, ask about the lifted suspension and stronger output, and see how this Silverado EV configuration compares to what you might expect.
